Here is our first Back Yard Cottage or Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit, DADU, built in the City of Seattle. We maximized all the square footage allowed (800 sq ft including garage and apartment) and came up with a 20 x 20 large one car garage and a nice Studio apartment. The customer chose Smartpanel T-1-11 siding with primed cedar shingles on the gable. This is built on our Monolithic footing and slab, 2 x 6 DF#2 studs, Tyvek Housewrap, insulated vinyl windows, Coravent continuous ridge-venting, and a small exterior stair & landing for the first few treads.
